Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bespoke Millinery?

Bespoke Millinery is where you, the client, has a piece made specifically to your design specifications.  This can include the size and shape of the piece, the colour, materials used and trimmings.  Working alongside Emma either virtually, in person or via email we can take inspiration and ideas from all aspects of life and create something truly unique

What about sizing and fitting?

All of Emma’s Headpieces are designed as one size fits all so there is no need for head measurements or fitting appointments. Our headpieces are fitted with hat elastic or a headband and/or a comb if necessary, depending on the style, so your piece will fit securely.  Our casual fedora/trilby style hats are also a generic standard size; however, if you are unsure and need assistance don’t hesitate to contact us

How long does it take to make a Bespoke Headpiece?

It can take anywhere from between 4 to 6 weeks to source materials, colour match, design and create a bespoke piece and get it delivered to you.  This can be done in less time if required but the best advice is once you have a special event you know you are attending contact us as soon as possible to secure your date!

Do I need to attend for an appointment?

Generally, an in-person appointment is not necessary.  Initial conversations and design consultations take place via Zoom and samples of materials and trimmings can be posted for colour matching and approval.  If an in-person meeting is required, this can be discussed and accommodated.
